    Action against employee for misusing internet facility?

    I am the supervisor of a private company. Our company has banned misusing of net facility of office. But it has come to my notice that one of the employee is misusing the net facility by chatting in social networking sites for hours and is deteriorating in his tasks. What steps should be taken against him?

    Hi friend

    I think that you should definitely punish such employees who do not understand their responsibilities and misuse the facilities of the company for their own benefit. They should realise that their priorty should be concentrate on their work rather than concentrating on such things as chatting on social networking sites for hours. And if this results in the deterioration of their work performance this is even worse. They are mature enough to relise their responsibilities and also their priorities in life and thus should better not indulge in such irresponsible behaviour.

    You should definitely take some strict action against him and make it sure that he relises his mistake and never behave in such a thing again. This will be definitely good for his future and he too will realise it sooner or later. You should call him to your office and tell him that you have found out from some reliable sources that he has been misusing the net facility provided by the company to its employees by uselessly chatting on social networking sites for hours. And this is the reason why his performance has been deteriorating from the past few days. So he will definitely be punished for the same and will have to take this punishment in good sense as it is good for his future.

    Then you can either fine him for the same or give him some time off with loss of pay. Then only he will realise his mistake and that will be a relief for you too. This will certainly be good for his future as you will notice a drastic change in his performance and that he will be a changed person as well. You will surely notice these changes and this is my guarantee to you. So you should not waste any more time and do this as soon as possible .

    Hello ,

    In my opinion , yes you should take serious action upon such an act as this is directly affecting his
    performance
    during his office hours .

    Not only is the office environment becoming casual , he his not sending an good message to his juniors
    who will think that such things are OKAY to be done at office .
    It should be made clear that such things will not be tolerated and give some penalty / punishment so
    that he takes the case seirously .

    The internet facilities have not been giving to the employee so that they can use the social networking sites
    and all other entertainment which is available there .
    Also specify , during break hours you ca access whatever you want but not during working hours .

    Also , call a gathering where you can mention that the "server room" has all the information that each employee accessess
    via his computer and any further incidents will result in blocking of such sites .
    This will help the employee get back on track and his performance will sirely lift .

    Hello,

    You have mentioned in your post that the company where you are working has banned misuse of internet facilities.Inspite of banning how come this employee is able to use the internet for his personal use like chatting in social networking site? This means that access to these websites have not been blocked in the computers of the employees.

    So,firstly I would suggest you to block access to these social networking sites in all the computers.Rules should be same for all.Then personally call this employee to your cabin and ask him about the issue.See what he has to say about it.After that,give him a strong warning that his performance level is not satisfactory.If this continues then his job will be in danger.Dont mention from what source you have come to know about this fact that he uses official computer for personal use.

    Hello ,
    There is nothing to be so tensed about . Clashing of joining dates is a normal thing for the company .
    They are preety flexible with it .
    As far you have a genuine reason , they do not create a fuss about it .
    I recommmend you go to the company as soon as possible and talk to the HR present at the company .

    Explain him the situation that your brothers marriage falls on the same date and you got the joining date
    very recently so could not inform earliar .

    • Better Attach a photostat of the marriage invitation card just as a proof with the written application
    where you ask to shift your joining date by a few dates due to the reasons stated .

    I am sure your condition will be considered as its your brothers marriage and you are needed for all the arrangements and major activities .

    Hello Friend,
    Yeah if an employee not obeying the company policies then you have all rights to take action against him,but before taking any stringent action give him one warning to stop taking advantage of company facility as these are provided for business purpose.you can also tell him that all logs are being taken and may be anytime they take action against you on basis of that.and the action may lead to your termination.so be careful.once giving warning you need to monitor that person for some time then see whether he is repeating his action or not.
    if he repeat the same mistake then you can take action against him like cutting his allowance for a month,fine of some amount all these will stop him from misusing the facility.
    in the worst case you can give him release from that project and send him to buffer or terminate him from the job.

    hello,
    i think you should track his ip address and track what he does during working hours.
    once you get the list of his browsing elements you can give him the copy of it and ask what was he doing at that time.
    he'll feel ashamed in front of all others, and will come back to its track.
    this will solve your problem and obviously his respect would get affected and he'll get this as punishment.

    hello friend,
    i think you should firstly warned him that not to misuse the internet during working hours..
    if he is still misusing the internet then you should track his ip address and get the list of his browsing elements.. and feel ashmed infront of others..
    he will definitely ashmed.. and will come back to his work..
    this will resolved your problem.

    Hello,As this employee is misusing the internet facilities and giving poor performances in his working skills the better thing you should do is that collect the internet charges from himself and also give him a serious warning about this matter..Thank you..
